Checkvalve Options

Multiple options for a variety of chemicals. Checkvalve shown is for Option P, acid injection. The model R-3, as shown, is a twin injector with standard Option C on one side, and acid Option P on the other side. This is ideal for applying two chemicals at the same time that cannot be mixed together.

Injector Piston

The precision-ground injector piston is free-floating. This centers the injector piston in the injector piston o-ring, which greatly extends the life and provides exceptional accuracy of proportion.

Carbon Graphite Sleeves

The model R-3 utilizes carbon graphite sleeves, minimizing wear of the slow-moving water motor pistons. Smith injectors are sized according to the water flow rate used.

Water Motor Pistons

There are two water motor pistons that slowly travel back and forth. The speed at which this occurs is dependent on the water flow rate. This feature maintains a constant proportion no matter the flow rate.

Crankshaft Assembly

The crankshaft assembly is designed so that one water motor piston is already moving, either backwards or forwards, before the mating water motor piston begins its travel. This allows the injector to function within the specified flow rate range. Smith injectors run virtually silent.

Plexiglass Windows

Plexiglass windows on each side of the crankshaft housing allow the user to watch the crankshaft turn. Because Smith injectors operate silently, this enables the user to ensure that the injector is operating. It also allows the operator to perform a calibration procedure to determine the accuracy of the proportion.

Dip Tube Strainers

Dip tube strainers are optional equipment, made entirely of Stainless Steel, and include reinforced perforated screen.

Anti-Syphon Check Valve

Optional anti-siphon check valve for installations where stock tanks are significantly elevated.

Simple Injector O-ring Maintenance

The injector piston o-ring is the only component requiring periodic replacement. This procedure is simple: remove the checkvalve insert, install the new o-ring, and replace the checkvalve insert.

Check Valve Inserts

The checkvalve inserts hold the checkvalves in place and contain the injector piston o-ring. Injected chemicals do not contact the injector head, resulting in long life.

Double Ball Check Valves

Double ball check valves are made of Stainless Steel, are long lasting, and trouble-free. These are standard for Options C, W, F, and I. The checkvalve seats are removable and machined on both sides so they can be flipped over and used again.

Chemical Injector

We pride ourselves in the meticulous attention to detail supplied in each injector we manufacture. Our long-term commitment to the industry gives us unique insight into your operations and enables us to respond by producing meaningful products and superb customer service. Our injectors add a significant investment to your operation and will give years of trouble-free and accurate operation.

Smith injectors do not require electric motors but are operated by the flow of water. As such, they are always safe for your plants and can never inject more than the preset proportion. Wide proportion ratios are available.

Our injectors can be ordered so that two incompatible chemicals can be injected at the same time (twin injection). Several options can be specified depending on the chemical to be applied.

Please download Catalogue CM-1 for a thorough explanation of the injectors, options, and proportions available, as well as accessory equipment. Ancillary literature, operation manuals, and parts lists are also available for download from this site.
