Small Capacity Pumps
A very broad range of small-capacity pumps are manufactured by Smith for flow rates between 2.5 to 15 gallons per minute. All flow rates depend on the motor drive speed, which is determined largely by the duty cycle. Pumps for intermittent duty can be driven at the maximum rated shaft speed, while those for continuous duty or long on-times can be driven at slower motor speeds.
Pumps can be provided with or without motors affixed. Motors are available in 1- or 3-phase, 50 or 60 Hz, TEFC or explosion proof (UL listed and ATEX available), with many different voltage options to choose from. All motors affixed to small capacity pumps are tested before leaving the factory.

Medium Capacity Pumps
For 20 to 100 gallons per minute, pump models are offered with various porting configurations. Pumps can be ordered with threaded connections or flanges. Flanges are available in three different options: FNPT threaded, socket-weld, and butt-weld. “H” model pumps with over 35 GPM capacity are recommended for 50 Hz applications, where the maximum drive speed is 1500 RPM. Standard pump models without the “H” in the model number can be used for both 50 Hz and 60 Hz installations at 1500 RPM and 1800 RPM motor drive speeds.
Pumps can be provided as a pump only or a complete unit with base, motor, coupling, and coupling guard protection. Motors are available in 1- or 3-phase, 50 or 60 Hz, TEFC or UL Listed explosion proof (ATEX motors also available), with many different voltage options to choose from.

Large Capacity Pumps
For transfer rates exceeding 100 gallons per minute, pump models ranging from 150 to 250 gallons per minute are offered. Pumps can be ordered with threaded connections or flanges. Flanges are available in FNPT threaded or socket-welded. “H” model pumps are recommended for 50 Hz applications, with a maximum drive speed of 1500 RPM.
