The World’s Most Trusted LP-Gas Pumps

The proven leader in LPG pump manufacturing

Smith Pumps has earned its reputation as a trusted leader in LPG pump solutions by focusing on what matters most in LP Gas transfer: safety, efficiency, and reliability. LP Gas transfer involves moving pressurized liquefied petroleum gas between storage tanks, vehicles, cylinders, and dispensing systems—a process that demands precise flow control, stable pressure handling, and equipment engineered to perform consistently under demanding conditions. A precision-engineered, high-performance pump is vital for fast, reliable liquid transfer—ensuring maximum efficiency, operational safety, and long-term performance.

Since 1938, Smith Pumps has designed and manufactured pumps purpose-built for LP Gas applications, setting the standard for durability and long-term performance. Their LPG pumps support a wide range of uses—from cylinder filling and autogas systems to bulk transfer and truck delivery—with flow rates ranging from 5 to 250 GPM (19 to 946 LPM). Backed by proven engineering, rigorous testing, and industry certifications, Smith Pumps is the name professionals rely on when dependable LP Gas transfer truly matters.

Beyond performance, Smith Pumps are designed with the end user in mind. Their simple, low-maintenance design with fewer components minimizes downtime and maximizes operational cost savings.

Performance Specifications

Rated Flow Capacity:
5 to 250 GPM (19 to 946 LPM)

UL Temperature Range:
-40°F TO +122°F (-40°C to +50°C)*

UL Maximum Allowable Working Pressure:
350 psi (24 bar)*

UL Maximum Differential Pressure:
125 psi (8 bar)*

Duty Cycle:
2 hours continuously at maximum RPM. For pumps operating for more than 2 hours, we recommend our heavy-duty “NSSA” option and operating the pump at ½ the maximum drive speed. Please contact our factory for the recommended pump model/motor combination.

*Contact our engineering department if your application requires a different temperature
or pressure than listed above.

**All pumps are built for their intended liquid service and cannot be interchanged due to differences in materials of construction. Never use a pump for a liquid service other than specified.

100% Tested Before Shipment

All Smith LPG pumps are tested three times before shipment under our ISO 9001 quality management system. Mechanical seals are tested for leaks, pump casings are pressure tested, and each pump is tested to verify flow performance before leaving the factory.

Smith’s proprietary mechanical shaft seal assembly allows every seal to be pre-assembled and factory-tested prior to shipment, whether for a new pump or as a spare. The result is faster installation, reduced downtime, and dependable sealing performance you can trust. Learn more about Smith’s mechanical shaft seal design.

Testing Criteria:

  • Every mechanical seal is liquid tested to inspect for leakage.
  • Casings in the pumps are pressure tested to 350 psi after assembly.
  • Pumps are then liquid tested to meet pump flow rate expectations.
